Our Privacy Commitment
MagicFrame is built on a zero-server architecture.
Your family photos flow directly from your cloud storage (Google Photos, Dropbox, etc.) to your
iPad—without ever touching our servers.
We don't store, analyze, or have access to your images. Period.
1. Information We Don't Collect
Unlike traditional digital photo frames, MagicFrame does not collect, store, or process:
- Your photos or videos
- Your cloud storage credentials (these are stored locally on your iPad using iOS Keychain)
- Facial recognition data or biometric information
- Location data from your photos
- Browsing history or usage analytics from the app
2. Information We Do Collect
To provide you with product updates and customer support, we collect minimal information:
2.1 Waitlist & Order Information
- Email address: To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and product announcements
- Shipping address: To deliver your MagicFrame hardware
- Payment information: Processed securely through Stripe (we never store your credit card
details)
2.2 Device Information (Optional)
- iPad model: To ensure hardware compatibility
- iOS version: For troubleshooting and support purposes
- Crash reports: Only if you opt-in to help us improve app stability
3. How Your Photos Are Synced
MagicFrame uses direct OAuth authentication with your cloud provider:
- You authorize MagicFrame to access specific albums in Google Photos or Dropbox
- Your iPad receives an access token directly from Google/Dropbox (not through our servers)
- The MagicFrame app downloads photos directly from your cloud to your iPad's local storage
- All processing (resizing, caching, slideshow rendering) happens on-device
We never act as a middleman. Your photos travel directly from your cloud provider to your device.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Local storage: Photos are cached on your iPad using encrypted iOS storage
- Cloud credentials: Stored in iOS Keychain with hardware-level encryption
- Network security: All connections use TLS 1.3 encryption
- No third-party tracking: We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking
scripts
5. Third-Party Services
MagicFrame integrates with the following services (you control these connections):
- Google Photos: Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
- Dropbox: Subject to Dropbox's Privacy Policy
- Stripe: Payment processing (subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy)
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of your email and order history
- Opt-out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every email)
- Revoke MagicFrame's access to your cloud storage at any time
- Export your data (though we store very little)
7. Children's Privacy
MagicFrame is designed for family use, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children
under 13.
Parents control all cloud connections and photo access.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect product improvements or legal requirements.
We'll notify you via email if we make significant changes. Continued use of MagicFrame after updates
constitutes acceptance.
